A Short Summary for Conceptual Understanding of the whole story:

Miss Rehana was a beautiful Pakistani woman. She was very poor and an orphan. She had not so much wealth. Her Fiance (a man whom someone is engaged to be married) was Mustafa Dar of Borford, England. She was engaged to Mustafa Dar. Her marriage was arranged by her parents when she was nine years old. At that time, Mustafa Dar was already thirty (30) years old. He moved to England promising to retrieve her but he did nothing. Miss Rehana had not even met Mustafa and he was absolutely stranger for her.

She went to the British consulate on Tuesday for visa to go to England and to meet her fiancé, Mustafa Dar. There, she met an expert adviser named Muhhammad Ali. At first, he wanted to advice her for visa application at a low cost. But when Rehana revealed her status as an orphan and poor then he provided her the needed advices at free of cost.

Ali checked her application and gave her all invasive and personal questions for Sahibs or the British officials. Along with, Ali offered her unfair means of facility to take the permit easily. But, Rehana refused the offer and returned back to the consulate. After that, Rehana attended the interview. But she had failed.

When she came out from the consulate then Ali congratulated her as he thought that she had passed. Interestingly, he knew later that she had failed. But, she was very happy though she had failed to get a visa. Because/As, she did not want to go to England and ruin her future to live with Mustafa.

Finally, she advised Ali not to be sad and went back to Lahore for her work on a bus. Ali had seen her last happily smile as the happiest thing that he had ever confronted in his long life.
