Ans- The children woke up early in the morning because their parents promised them to go to somewhere (Sivasagar and Kaziranaga)  the next day for their holiday. That day, they were so excited for the journey.

2. Why is Assam unique?
Ans- Assam is a unique land famous for its tea gardens, ancient temples, extra ordinary historical monuments, natural sceneries and many other unique things. Also, Assam is mostly famous for its natural beauty.

3.What is a national park?
Ans-National park is a reserve place. It is used for conservation of animals and essential trees. Kaziranga National Park, Manash National Park, Pabitara National Park etc are some examples of national Parks.

4. When was Kaziranga designated as a National Park?

Ans- The full form of UNESCO is United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization.

6. Why was Kaziranga Game Sanctuary renamed the Kaziranga Wild Life Sanctuary?
Ans-‘Kaziranga Game Sanctuary’, this name was changed in 1950 by P.D. Stracey. Basically, the word ‘game’ sometimes means sports and animals hunted for food. So, this name should not be matched for conservation purposes. For this reason, it was renamed to ‘Kaziranga Wild Life Sanctuary’.

1. Write briefly the history of Kaziranga as a protected area.
Answer:- Mary Curzon, the wife of Lord Curzon visited Kaziranga in 1904. She heard that Kaziranga was famous for rhinos. Unfortunately, she could not find a single rhino there. So, she requested her husband to protect the rhinos immediately. From then or soon in 1905, the Kaziranga Proposed Reserve Forest’ was created.
                Thus, Kaziranga was a protected area from then.

2. Write a short note on ‘Talatal Ghar’.
Ans-Among the other extra-ordinary things, Talatal Ghar is another one famous monument in Sivasagar. It does not look so good. It has four storeys above ground. Other three storeys are available in below ground. There are also the two secret tunnels. One, which is sixteen (16) kilometers long and lead to the Gargaon place. The other, which is three (3) kilometers long and lead to the Dikhow River. But, the tunnels are closed now.

3.Wite a note on Charaideo Maidam.
Ans- Siu-Ka-Pha, the founder of the Ahom dynasty made Charaideo his first capital. It is twenty two kilometers (22) away from Sivasagar town and as worth visiting. There are at least a hundred maidams in Charaideo.
                It was a burial ground for the Ahom Kings and nobles. Many royal graveyards still exists in this place. The hillock of Charaideo was considered to be sacred by the Ahom dynasty. It was considered as ancestral god’s place during the Ahom rules.
                Thus, Charaideo Maidam is another one famous historical place or monument of Sivasagar.
