Guwahati, 16 Feb., 2017: Today evening at 7 P.M., a terrible/dreadful accident took place in Guwahati Train Station. A speeding train B.G. Express/other train name rear-ended another local train. A devastating fire broke out instant for the coalition the two trains. A large number of people gathered immediate and trying to put out the fire. A reporter called the fire brigade, the Police as well as 108 Medical services. Five fire brigades started their works and within a few minutes, the fire had under controlled. But, 135 people were injured and 20 people were dead instant. Injurious passengers were brought to G.M.C.H. by 108 Service and private cars at once.  A sorrowful moment flourished at that moment and now police are inquiring about the accident.

Today a most charity show was organized in Spring Valley School Jorhat. This show was conducted by the ‘Student union of Spring Valley school’ for giving aid to the flood-affected people of Majuli area. The show started by Mahapurush Sankar Dev’s bargeet ‘Narayan Kahe’. After that, one famous one act play ‘Save the largest river island’ was performed. The education minister, Chief Minister and many dignities were present there. Many people gave their valuable speech for save the natural disaster of flood and chief minister announced fifteen thousand rupees to each flood-affected people. Also, a good amount of money was collected from some well-wishers of this area. This show added some musical and dance programs by the school’s students. Finally, the show was ended by singing the national anthem ‘O Mur Apuanr Desh’.

Dhemaji, 16 February, 2017: 
          For incessant/unceasing/continual rain falling for a week, the whole/entire Dhemaji district had been caused a terrible flood. Today the flood situation turned critical and the river breached the embankment. The national highway and the other roads were totally snapped crashed. There were no place to live/stay and many people have taken their shelter on the railway lines. Many houses/huts have been washed away and a widespread caused by the flood in the whole area. The army has been pressed to service the suffering people and various relief camps opened in some school and places. There has been a scarcity of drinking water. The District Administrator is making all out efforts to lessen/become less the suffering of the flood affected people. The Assam & India government were made relief to each flood affected persons.

                       Today,/in the last week,  the students and the teachers of ABC Higher Secondary School organized a Swacha Bharat Abhiyan/ Cleanness Week and drove in the school campus. The work/The programme started at 9 am, date 9-02-2017 and ended at 4 pm, date-15-02-2017. More than two hundred students and sixteen teachers had participated the Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan / Cleanness Week. All the students and teachers took brooms in hands and cleaned the whole school campus. There were several dustbins installed in different places and collected the garbage in there. Some programs and competitions like ‘best cleaner’, beautiful natural picture’s art competitions, ‘best natural quotes competition’, etc. were performed or participated by the students.  All the students and teachers were praised by the local people and guardians for their valuable programmes, works and ideals. The programmes were so attractive and the teachers gave more similar drive promised in future time. All other visitors were also encouraged to do like this work.

A blood donation camp was organized by Govt. Higher Secondary School, Karimganj  on  14th February, 2017. A team of 12 doctors and nurses of GMCH came for collection of blood to the school. The event was started with Ganesh Vandana, Poem recitation and a small skit by the students of Govt. Higher Secondary School.  The principal,  Dr. B.K. Verma enlightened the students with his speech. The other teachers and faculty members were also present at the occasion and help the mission. The volunteers and the nurses helped a lot on the mater.  A total of 104 units were collected in the camp from the students and teachers. Some donors those could not donate at that time, they mentioned or promised to give the next donation occasion. The donor students and the teachers were given fruits and foods of vitamins and proteins after had donated their blood. The donation card, a Certificate of appreciation, and refreshment were given to each donor as a token of gratitude and for their great work. The programme was ended with national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana Adhi’.

Some students of class 12 performed the drama “To Save mother earth, Plant More Trees’. After that, some natural songs and poems were performed by the students which gave the message of save the nature & the earth. After the programmes, the students were given an activity to ‘Cultivate Seeds and Nurture the plants/some trees’ in the school campus. An exhibition of showcase the nurtured various tree plants were showed by the students. Overall, the occasion was a great success with everybody’s praise and promised for ‘Nurture the trees and the earth’. Finally, the programme was ended with national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana Adhi’.

Like the other places of Assam, our District Administration has celebrated ‘Silpi Divas’ at the District Library auditorium today. With singing the ‘Jilika Pakhira’ of ‘Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala’ , he  inaugurated the programme. He and some other guests gave some valuable speeches on ‘Jyoti Prasad Agarwala’ and his contribution to Assam; ‘Jyoti Sangeet’, Assamese Film and so on. After that, the programme/competition of ‘Jyoti Sangeet’ were performed by some students and faculties. The First Assamese Drama ‘Joymati’ of Jyotiprasad was performed on the stage. The essay and lecture competition on ‘The Life of Jyoti Prasad’ were organized. The painting competition of ‘Jyoti Prasad Agarwala’ was also included. Moreover, the dance competition on ‘Jyoti Sangeet’ was added with the programme. Finally, Zubin Garg, Mahendra Hazarika, Bipin Chawdang and some other famous singers performed some ‘Jyoti Sangeets’ and ended the programme.

For the many traffics in Guwahati, accidents are usual happenings daily in this big city. More than 8 or 10 accidents’ report come daily from this city. Today also a terrible road accident took place in Zoo-Road between a school bus and a passengers’ bus. The school bus was returning from the school and at that time an over speeding passengers’ bus crossed in front of the school bus. The bus driver tried to take a sharp turn to save the accident/struck, but unfortunately head-on collision/hit/stuck with a traffic point. Many passengers of the bus were injured in the heavy jolted and a school-going boy had dead instantly. The injurious passengers were brought to J.M.C.H. by 108 Service immediate and the School boy was forwarded for post-mortem. The both drivers were arrested by the police.  The police are inquiring and investigating for more informations. Now, a sorrowful moment is affecting at this place.
