1. Give a brief
character portrayal of Aunty Roopwati.
Ans:
- Aunty Roopwati was a so beautiful lady who was still blooming till seventy
years old. She affected a lot of things by joining the freedom struggle. Her
beautiful created a chaos among the young blood of freedom fighters. She had a
graduate degree and a well-known family. She also knew well to sing like a
shehnai. She informed that a few poems had become immortal because the
composers had composed their writings about her. Aunt Roopwati was very smart
at all and fluent in speaking. Everyone thought that she was destined to get
great heights and there were no any doubt about it. Roopwati had a wrong habit.
She always used of extolling herself. This was disliked by many
companions/colleagues in politics. For this reason, many inferiors had passed
her and got others praising than Roopwati. According to her, all the budding
leaders wanted to marry her. But, she rejected everyone except Jagdishji whom
she condescended/admired to marry for her life.
2. Chinmoy Babu was
looked upon as a man above the propensities of an ordinary mortal. Elucidate
Ans:
- Chinmoy Babu was a different character than the other character in the story.
He had a promising future as a good artist and a classical singer. He had
published a number of books on literary and cultural topics. His writings
provided an actual and originality theme. He was talented and intelligent too.
He had done many scarifies than the other on regard of the freedom struggle.
But, he had few influence in the party at first.
When, people got disillusioned with the loudmouthed leaders. Then, the party realised the need of
resurrect/reproduce by some old freedoms heroes and freedom fighters. At that
situation, he became the mayor and great influenced in the party. He was also
an uncontested person for the party. He was looked as a man who above the
propensities of an ordinary man. He was the only person who was free from any
corruption. At that situation, he was the only incorruptible leader and proved
to be the only hope for his party and to return back to power. Chimney Babu was
sure of his victory, because lots of well-wishers supported him that time.
But, one situation gave him some difficult at that time when
Roopwati informed the romantic scene of Chinmoy Babu. When, Roopwati narrated
the forty year old incident. At that time, it was dusk and there was a party’s
working committee in session going. Suddenly, the lights went off. At that
moment, Roopwati informed that Chinmoy Babu was sitting next to her and he
crawled his fidgeting fingers into her hands and sat for a full hour like that.
Fortunately, that problem was solved by Dhani Chowdhury who handled the matter
on claiming himself.
At last, Chimney Babu’s had path to
victory as Chief Minister.

Ans:
Aunty Roopwati was a so beautiful lady who was still blooming

struggle. Her beautiful face and body created a chaos among the young blood of
freedom fighters. According to her, she had many admires. Among them, one was
Chinmoy Babu.
Actually, Chinmoy Babu did not reacting love openly to
Roopwati. But, the main fact is that Chinmoy Babu was also another admire to Roopwati.
We get this point by the three situations. These ares-
When, Roopwati narrated the forty year old incident. At that
time, it was dusk and there was the party’s working committee in session going.
Suddenly, the lights went off. At that moment, Roopwati informed that Chinmoy
Babu was sitting next to her and he crawled his fidgeting fingers into her
hands and sat for a full hour like that.
Another was, when Chinmoy Babu was going to his own
constituency, and then the writer pointed the deserted pyre of Roopwati where
Chinmoy Babu nodded his head to that. That was another clue of admire to Roopwati.
We have also one climax point, when Chinmoy Babu went towards
the cremation ground of Roopwati, then the writer saw that he gathered a bunch
of flowers and pruning them to the cremation ground. That was also proved as admire
to Roopwati. At that same situation, when he walked towards the Aunty’s pyre
and kneeling down, then he wiped his eyes again and again. The situation also
informs us as a lover of Roopwati.
Q4. Describe the wedding night of aunty Roopwati.

character of Jagdishji in the story.
Ans:-
Aunty Roopwati had rejected many proposal and finally selected Jagdishji as her
husband. Roopwati thought that he would provide her a dreamful life. Instead,
she had known the actual fact of Jagdishji’ character in the wedding night.
The time, when Roopwati comfortably
reclined on the bed, then she expected a profound show of love and respect from
him. But, instead Jagdishji out three own writes essays from a canvas bag. At
first, he had finished his first essay about a profound treatise on the
socio-economic benefits of the proposed prohibition of the trade in liquor. At
by 2 a.m., he had finished his second essay. After that, he tried to start the
third essay, but Roopwati had snatched away the essays and burnt them page by
page.
From then, their relations were
going no good so far. Jagdishji was very sad that matter and rarely talked for
the rest of his life. Finally, he had died only at thirty-five years old.
Thus, the author describes the
weeding night of Aunty Roopwati and about Jagdishji relationship with Roopwati
as husband-wife.

character Dhani Chowdhury.

Chowdhury? How is he involved in the story?
Ans:-
Dhani Chowdhury was a former treasurer of the party. He was a
respected and a famous leader of the party.
The character Dhani Chowdhury came in the story when Chinmoy
Babu’s romantic incident came out in the society. At that situation, Dhani Chowdhury
was a rescuer for Chinmoy Babu. He narrated a false story to everyone to save
Chinmoy Babu. He informed that when the lights went out then Chinmoy Babu
seated beside Roopwati. But, after that he had gone out of the room to attend
some urgent work. The thing was not known to Roopwati. The lights did not
return until the meeting was over. So, Roopwati had never found out the actual
person. He also informed that he was the person who was holding Roopwati’s
fingers. For this story, Chinmoy Babu was rescued from the convict.
After that, Dhani Chowdhury became the convict of the matter
and he was deprived from all the freedoms and facility. But, Dhani Chowdhury
did not seem sad and sorry for that matter. He seemed a sense of pride to
inform the matter. He was also willing to donate his photographs to be
published on leaflets carry his confession.
Thus, the writer sketches the character of Dhani
Chowdhury.
